FACES is a rarely shown body of work consisting of moody portraits of friends, family and former lovers, all captured in the distinct cool/warm tones and imperfect sharpness that are a hallmark of Polaroid film stock and camera systems.

Wild Gander is a photographic series that explores themes of affection and longing among men of color in adult pornographic media. Kareem Michael Worrell reinterprets black queer porn as a positive medium for representation, community, and joy, reframing explicit male-on-male imagery to center romantic intimacy, vulnerability, and camaraderie. The photographs presented here are part of two ongoing series—“Daddy” and “Wild Geese”—that delve into LGBT+ identity through use of rephotographed images.

Birds in flight, a discarded sandwich, a Parisian woman walking, fences, a name carved into the bark of a tree, and an open window - Sidewalk Safari is a collection of scenes discovered while immersed in th1e everyday. In this publication, Worrell fixes his lens on the overlooked or unassuming, presenting them like trophies from a long and great hunt. Through these photographs, viewers experience the juxtaposition of seriousness and playfulness and are tasked with examining the usual in their own lives for deeper meaning.

Passenger is a collection of Polaroid Spectra photographs documenting a 2004 cross-country move from Boston, Massachusetts to Los Angeles, California. The project started with the goal of archiving a rite of passage by photographing my road trip with friends, but quickly evolved into something more as the shifting vistas and changing skies of the vibrant American landscape became a source of inspiration.

Mile Marker is the first volume in my Lonely Highway series started in 2004.
In making Mile Marker, I photographed various landscapes and familiar scenes associated with car travel using a variety of digital and analogue cameras. Documenting subjects only while I was in motion and transport; Mile Marker is a collection of photos capturing the beauty of the world as one could only see it by automobile.
